Berliac 'Inverso'
kuš! and the Latvian Centre for Contemporary Art are inviting to the opening of the exhibition “Inverso” by Argentinian artist Berliac.

In the midst of a marital crisis, an unnamed zoologist is assigned to investigate the possible case of a "negative jaguar". The deeper he delves into the Amazonian jungle, the more he steps into the other side of reality. Is it too late to go back?
Berliac is a comics and graphic narrative artist. He was born 1982 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He lives and works in Bergen, Norway. He has released 6 graphic Novels published in Argentina, Brazil and Spain and exhibited his works internationally. In 2013 kuš! released his story ‘Inverso’ as mini kuš!. His shorter works have appeared in diverse anthologies and zines worldwide. http://berliac.com
Berliac is CUNE artist in residence in Riga during the month of March invited by kuš!.
The exhibition can be visited at the Office Gallery of the Latvian Centre for Contemporary Art, Alberta ielā 13, 7. floor, until the 20th of March 2014. Opening hours are 12:00-18:.00 every work day.
A discussion with the artist about his works, contemporary comics art and his projects in Riga will take place at the Office Gallery on March 13th at 18.30.

Komiksu kultūras žurnāls kuš! un Laikmetīgās mākslas centrs aicina uz Berliaka (AR) izstādes „Inverso” atklāšanu!

Kāds vārdā nenosaukts zoologs smagas laulību krīzes vidū saņem uzdevumu izmeklēt lietu par iespējams eksistējošu “negatīvo jaguāru”. Jo dziļāk viņš dodas pētīt Amazones džungļus, jo vairāk attālinās un nokļūst realitātes otrā pusē. Vai ir jau par vēlu, lai atgrieztos?
Berliaks ir komiksu un grafisku stāstu autors, dzimis 1982. gadā Buenosairesā, Argentīnā, un šobrīd dzīvo un strādā Bergenā, Norvēģijā. Berliaka seši grafiskie romāni ir izdoti Argentīnā, Brazīlijā, Spānijā un viņa darbi ir izrādīti vairākās starptautiskās izstādēs. 2013.gadā kuš! izdeva viņa stāstu „Inverso” mini kuš! sērijā. Berliaka komiksu īsstāsti ir iekļauti dažādās antoloģijās un zīnos visā pasaulē. http://berliac.com
Berliaks ir CUNE programmas komiksu mākslinieks rezidencē un Rīgā strādās vienu mēnesi.
Izstāde būs apskatāma Laikmetīgās mākslas centra Ofisa galerijā, Alberta ielā 13, 7. stāvā, līdz 2014.gada 20. martam. LMC durvis atvērtas katru darba dienu no 12.00-18.00.
Saruna ar mākslinieku par saviem darbiem, mūsdienu komiksiem un to, ko viņš darīs martā Rīgā, notiks 13. martā, plkst. 18.30 LMC Ofisa galerijā.

I tried anyway. Heaven knows why. Maybe just to see if I could or maybe because I was tired of working for the man hating my job and staying in debt. The first few months I just kind of half assed it. Like I said, I was mainly doing it for me. As I started to earn an income, make connections, helping people and getting results of my own...I really realized the potential.
